Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2021-05-25T19:35Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2021-05-25T19:35:00-IPS-001 (version 2)
Quality of ICME Signature: 1 (lacks some signatures)
Note: Sudden jump in B_total over 10 nT, preceded by pileup and accompanied with speed increase and field rotation. Lack of temperature data from PLASTIC obscures analysis. May be associated with the combined flank of the triplet of CMEs detected on 2021-05-22. A subsequent SSBC may have been observed around 2021-05-26T10:00Z based on an abrupt change in the phi angle and the polarity of B-field components. This SSBC signature may overlay a CME flux rope signature. Understanding this mixed signature is further complicated by a data gap in IMPACT/PLASTIC data between 2021-05-26T03:45-08:00Z.
